From Harrods of the North to Raval
Before it became home to Raval, this landmark on the Tyne Bridge was the famous Snowball & Son department store — once known as the “Harrods of the North”.
Today, we honour that history through award-winning Indian dining and dishes that connect Newcastle–Gateshead to culinary moments stretching back centuries — from Britain’s first printed curry recipe to the Newcastle Brown Ale curry.
