A Gateshead Indian restaurant is helping feed families in need with the iconic Tikka Masala.

To mark the 25th anniversary of National Curry Week (2nd-8th October), Raval is introducing its ‘Curry with a Cause’ initiative- donating money to a local charity for every chicken or paneer tikka masala sold.

Throughout the week, every portion will directly support ‘Feeding Families,’ a North East-based charity combating food poverty, which donated 346,731 meals and aided 11,316 families during the festive period last year.

Nas Isalm, manager of Raval, said: “This initiative encapsulates the North East spirit of unity, hope, and benevolence. Without diverging from their cherished curry rituals, our patrons ensure no child or family grapples with hunger in our region.”
